I based this woodcut print on a photograph that I took of one of the old wooden doorways that we found during our daylight stroll on the streets of Prague’s old city. Due to Prague’s strategic location in Central Europe and its recurring history as a capital, Prague has much to offer beyond what tourists typically visit. I read a lot of history when I visit a place. Carving this woodblock and making this print helped me to see more deeply. Take a look at my monoprint, Living in Prague, to get a sense of what I mean. I carved this woodblock and printed this print in the print studio of MassArt (Boston).
