I have always enjoyed life drawing. For one year, I studied academic drawing with Natasha Mokina at the Corcoran College of Art + Design (Washington DC). Poses lasted for 3 hours (with breaks for the model) for 2 sessions, for a total of 6 hours with one pose. With Natasha’s skill in choosing the models and setting up the poses & lighting, these sessions were inspiring. An artist can get completely absorbed by the beauty of what we see and feel before us over this long period of time with one model. As with many of my teachers, it was a pleasure and a gift to work with Natasha, as it was to work with our models.
