Watercolor work of Rubrum lilies in a yellow vase

Rubrum Lilies in a Vase

Circa 2003

Watercolor on Arches watercolor paper (cold press)

22" x 19" (matted & framed)

Signed in pencil in lower right.

Rubrum lilies are known for their fragrant blooms in late summer and their graceful stature. I carried Rubrum Lilies at our wedding. I put these lilies in a ceramic vase that mimics a paper bag. The vase was a gift from my mother-in-law. This painting is my first watercolor piece after studying watercolor in the Yellow Barn Studio at Glen Echo Park (Maryland).
